TAN Card

Tax Deduction Number (TAN) is a unique 10 digit alphanumeric code allotted  by the Income tax department

to all those persons  who are required to deduct tax at the source of income . It is mandatory to quote TAN on

all TDS ( Tax Deduction at source ) returns ( inclding E-  TDS returns )  or any TDS payment challan .

In order to apply for TAN  or to get change / correction carried out in an existing TAN record , you are requested

to sumbit the application form which is avaliable at any TAX Information Network Facilation centres

managed by the NSDL .

Applictaion can sumbit duly filled in application to any of the TIN – FC . The processing fee for both application

RS 55 ( Inclusive of service Tax @10.20 % ) . These application is digitised by the NSDL and farworded to

the Income Tax Department . The Income Tax Department issue a TAN which will be intimated to NSDL

online  . On the basis of this , NSDL issue a letter to any Applicant .
